PRP and shockwave therapy in Milan
For tendon or joint pain that rest and anti-inflammatories haven't fixed. Shockwave therapy and platelet-rich plasma stimulate the tissue's own repair, without surgery.
Shockwaves are acoustic pulses delivered through the skin with a handheld applicator. They reduce pain and support the repair of tendons and calcifications. PRP is a platelet concentrate made from a small sample of your own blood and injected into the area being treated.
Before any treatment a doctor examines you and, if needed, requests an ultrasound or X-ray. We only suggest a therapy when it has a good chance of working in your case.

Frequently asked questions
How many sessions will I need?
Shockwave therapy usually takes 3 to 5 sessions a week apart. PRP takes one to three injections, depending on the condition.
Does it hurt?
Shockwave therapy causes a tolerable discomfort during the session, adjusted with you. A PRP injection feels like a normal injection; the area may be sore for a day or two.
Who shouldn't have it?
The main ones are pregnancy, anticoagulant medication, and infection or cancer in the treated area. We always check during your assessment.
